EVOLV-Chicago

Our biggest event of the year is our annual BBQ -- held in August near Chicago. We offer food, games, prizes and a huge raffle of many exciting items! This is an all-Mazda event for those in the area to come out and join our club.

We have been very fortunate to enjoy wonderful weather every year and great friendships we all have formed over the years. We welcome new people to any meet or event we have!

2008 saw our first entry into the Memorial Day Parade in Aurora, IL. Six RX-8s were joined by our official mascot -- Ranger the greyhound! You can catch a glimpse of him peeking out the sunroof periscope-style. Barred from throwing candy, we gave a couple revs to those watching as we passed by. This was our first televised appearance as a car club!

EVOLV-Chicago has meets all over the Chicagoland area. We have travelled to Milwaukee, Rockford, many Chicago suburbs and the city itself. We have an annual cruise into the city and find some great backgrounds for photos. Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium and Lower Wacker are some of our favorite stops.

After our first meet in 2005, many members requested a more regular Meet & Greet format. The turnout was amazing and showed that our group was growing faster than we had ever imagined! 

This meet happened before we even had an official name for our group. We were on the lookout for more rotaries all the time. Racewar, one of the three original members (the other two being RedSheDevil and alnielsen), became our unofficial photographer. These photos were taken near Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg at a weekly meet on September 22, 2005.

On August 15, 2005 a thread was started on rx8club.com by RedSheDevil asking if there were any other rotaries out there in the Chicago area. On Tuesday, August 30, 2005 we had our first unofficial meet ... and a whopping three of us showed up: RedSheDevil, alnielsen and Racewar.
